I couldn't get anywhere with Windows Movie Maker so having tried the free version of Serif Movie Plus SE and liked it, I've ordered the full version of MoviePlus 圆, which arrrived this very morning - haven't even installed it yet. I started off using my Panasonic EX75 but since it was struck down by the dreaded U81 error I've reverted to the Firewire card on my PC - only cost a few pounds from Scan and it works faultlessly. I hadn't sort of made the connection that fitting 13gb of data onto a 4.7gb DVD means that something must be lost somewhere - early days for me.
My MiniDV tapes, about 20 hours worth, were created between about 20, and I've only just got round to capturing them to my PC for editing, so I'm picking it up slowly. I did say I'm no expert, and you two have confirmed it
